APAture week is upon us! While the tragic wake up call earlier this month shocked and scared the creativity out of me, the tragedies that continue to happen within our country and our communities disappoint me perhaps more. And I am looking forward to this gathering of creative Asian Pacific Americans and their friends more than ever.

This year, I am not participating with APAture as a volunteer, but as an artist. I have an audio/video/web piece (doesn't this sound like a Craig's List job posting category?) screening on Saturday the 29th at 8:15 p.m.

The piece is a sound collage of the stories and surroundings in my life. These stories are set to music and expressed visually through video image montage. Soundtrack... is an experiment with different ways of storytelling. It originally screened as a slide show at an event co-sponsored by Kearny Street Workshop and Locus Arts, On Saturday, the web component will go live at this url.

Online, the site connects to other Nonogirl Radio pieces, including work on the threatened Kimo’s shutdown, bands Samiam and Sunday’s Best, and the Shots in the Dark photo exhibit.
